Old Dominion stunned the Virginia men's basketball team 63-61 in the Governor's Holiday Hoops Classic at the Richmond Coliseum Saturday. The Monarchs won their second game of the year and broke the Cavaliers' 8 game winning streak.
Junior Joe Harris led the Cavaliers with 18 points, and freshman Evan Nolte had a career-high 15 points. Senior point guard Jontel Evans missed his eighth game of the year, after aggravating a foot injury against Tennessee.
Old Dominion broke its 9 game losing streak, and became the third Colonial Athletic Association team to beat UVa this season. The Cavaliers also lost to George Mason in the season opener, and to Delaware in the NIT Preseason Tip-Off.
