Quarterback Nick Johns is the third player to commit to Virginia's recruiting class of 2015.
Johns announced his verbal commitment to the Cavaliers on Tuesday morning on Twitter, choosing UVa over NC State and Maryland. Johns, from Gonzaga High School in Washington, DC, is regarded as a consensus three-star prospect by the major recruiting sites.
Johns joins Altavista High School safety Juan Thornhill and Pennsylvania offensive lineman Ryan Bischoff as players committed to UVa's class of 2015.
Johns picked the Cavaliers despite an already-crowded depth chart at the quarterback position. On Monday it was announced that rising sophomore Greyson Lambert will enter camp as the team's No. 1 quarterback. Last year's starter, rising junior David Watford, and sophomore Matt Johns (no relation to Nick) are listed as the co-No. 2 quarterbacks.
Fork Union's Corwin Cutler will join the quarterback competition at UVa camp this summer.
