No. 17 UVa Hangs On For Win at Clemson

For the first time under head coach Tony Bennett, the No. 17 Virginia men's basketball team won on the road at Clemson, beating the Tigers 63-58 on Saturday. The Cavaliers were 0-4 in their four previous trips to Clemson, losing by an average of 17 points.

Four Cavaliers scored in double figures in a game that matched the two top scoring defenses in the country. Joe Harris led UVa with 16 points and shot 4-for-9 from three point range.

Malcolm Brogdon finished with 14 points and 8 rebounds, and made 7-of-8 free throws. Six of Brogdon's made free throws came in the final 1:21 of the game. Mike Tobey added 14 points for UVa and Anthony Gill finished with 12 points off the bench.

The 'Hoos are now 21-5 overall and 12-1 in the ACC, matching their best start to conference play since the 1981-82 season. Next up, UVa travels to Virginia Tech on Feb. 18, where tipoff is set for 9 p.m. The Hokies are 1-10 in conference play this season.
