The No. 3 Virginia women's soccer team shut out No. 5 Duke, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Klockner Stadium.
The Cavaliers moved to 10-2-1 on the season, 3-1-1 with the win.
Just a few days after seeing a one-goal lead evaporate in a 3-1 loss at Maryland that snapped the Hoos' 10-game unbeaten streak, the Cavs started another streak against the Blue Devils.
The game was scoreless until the 88th minute, when senior Caroline Miller threaded a pass to freshman Makenzy Doniak, who chased it down, took a few touches and slipped it into goal past the diving Duke goalkeeper for her eighth score of the season.
Danielle DeLisle (4 saves) got the win in goal for Virginia.
The Cavaliers will host Wake Forest Friday.
