The No. 6 Virginia women's lacrosse team had its home opener spoiled by No. 1 Maryland, 18-10, Friday night at Klöckner Stadium. The Cavs fell to 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the ACC.
Casey Bocklet led the Wahoos with four goals and Ashlee Warner added three scores and an assist.
Caroline McTiernan, Courtney Swan and Morgan Stephens also scored for Virginia.
Alex Aust had five goals for the Terrapins.
Virginia will host Penn State on Sunday.
