Cavs Put Three on All-ACC Lacrosse Team

Junior Mark Cockerton, the nation's leading goal-scorer, is one of three first-time All-ACC selections from the Virginia lacrosse team.

Fellow juniors Nick O'Reilly (attack) and Scott McWilliams (defense) joined Cockerton on the All-ACC team, released Wednesday morning. The team is determined by a vote of the league's head coaches.

Cockerton leads the country with 42 goals in 12 games this season. He's scored multiple goals in 10 games this spring, including seven hat tricks and three six-goal games.

O'Reilly leads the Cavaliers with 29 assists and 49 total points. He's had at least four assists in four games this year, including a six-assist performance in Virginia's season-opening win over Drexel.

McWilliams is the first Virginia defenseman to be named All-ACC since Ken Clausen in 2010, and the lone defenseman on this year's all-conference team. McWilliams is second in the country with 35 caused turnovers, and second on the Cavaliers with 46 ground balls.
