Cavs' Gerson Named All-ACC Defense

Virginia junior guard Lexie Gerson was named to the five-player ACC All-Defensive team, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Gerson ranks second in the conference and 16th in the nation in steals per game (3.1) and has posted at least four steals in 15 games this season.

She has started 18 of the Cavaliers’ 30 games and adds 8.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. She has a team-high 93 steals.

Gerson and the Cavaliers have won three-straight games to conclude the regular season and are seeded sixth at the 2012 ACC Tournament. Virginia faces 11th-seeded Boston College on Thursday in the first round of the conference championship.
