Three Cavaliers Taken on Second Day of MLB Draft

On day two of the MLB Draft, Virginia juniors Brandon Downes and Branden Cogswell and senior Artie Lewicki made it six Cavaliers taken in the 2014 MLB Draft.

Downes was taken in the seventh round, 213th overall, by the Kansas City Royals. Cogswell was also drafted in the seventh round at 222nd overall by the Oakland A's while Lewicki became the sixth 'Hoo drafted when the Detroit Tigers picked him 250th overall in the eighth round.

Downes, Cogswell and Lewicki join teammates Nick Howard, Derek Fisher and Mike Papi, who were all selected on the first day of the 2014 MLB Draft. UVa was the only college to have three picks in the first round of this year's draft.
