Tony Bennett's first Class of 2013 commit is a big one.
Devon Hall, a four-star point guard from Cape Henry Collegiate in Virginia Beach, gave the Cavaliers his verbal commitment Sunday morning after participating in the Virginia "Elite" basketball camp Saturday.
Hall will re-classify from the Class of 2014 to the Class of 2013. This will allow him to play sooner than later, with Virginia not rostering a true point guard after Jontel Evans finishes his senior season in 2013.
The 6'5", 180-pound lefty was ranked 38th overall in the Class of 2014 by Rivals, with ESPN ranking him 41st. Rivals also had him as the top player in the Commonwealth for 2014.
He chose the Cavaliers over offers from Florida, Missouri, Memphis, Georgetown, Miami, Wake Forest, Florida State, Maryland and Virginia Tech.
Hall joins another 2014 blue-chip prospect, B.J. Stith, at Virginia. Stith, Rivals' second-ranked player in the Commonwealth in 2014, has already given his verbal to UVa.
Hall's older brother Mark will be a freshman on the Virginia football team this season.
