Harris Earns Walter Camp Watch List Honor

Virginia strong safety Anthony Harris was named a “player to watch” by the Walter Camp Football Foundation for its 2014 Player of the Year award announced Friday.

Named to the second-team on the 2013 Walter Camp All-America team, Harris is a preseason All-American after also earning All-America honors in 2013 from Sports Illustrated (first). Harris has also been named to the preseason Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List, the preseason Bednarik Award Watch List and the preseason Jim Thorpe Award Watch List. Harris led the nation with eight interceptions and set a UVa record with at least one interception in five straight games.

The 2014 Walter Camp Player of the Year recipient, which is voted on by the 125 NCAA Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors, will be announced live on ESPN SportsCenter on Thursday, Dec. 11.
