Virginia football fans who like to tailgate before home games won't have many weekends off next fall.
The ACC announced football schedules for its 14 member schools on Monday. As previously announced, the Cavaliers' includes eight home games -- the most in a single season in the history of Scott Stadium.
Four of Virginia's first five games are at home, including tough non-conference opponents BYU (August 31) and Oregon (September 7). The only road trip before mid-October is to Pittsburgh on September 28, for the Cavaliers' first meeting with Pitt as an ACC Coastal Division member.
Virginia's two other non conference games -- against VMI (September 21) and Ball State (October 5) -- are also at home.
The Cavaliers' other ACC road trips include the program's final game against Maryland as conference opponents, on October 12, and mid-November trips to North Carolina (November 9) and Miami (November 23).
Virginia's ACC home schedule includes visits by Duke (October 19), Georgia Tech (October 26), Clemson (November 2), and the traditional season finale against Virginia Tech (November 30).
