'Hoos Work Out at UVa Pro Day

Scouts from 26 NFL teams were on grounds Monday morning to watch Virginia football players work out at the school's annual Pro Timing Day. UVa seniors Morgan Moses, Luke Bowanko, Tim Smith, Jake Snyder, Brent Urban and former Cavalier Perry Jones were all on hand at the George Welsh Indoor facility.

"It's a lot of fun," defensive end Jake Snyder said. "We've been working for this for a few months now. Every year we come and see the older guys work out and do it, every year since our first year. It's fun to finally be the guy in this position and have a chance to work out in front of a lot of scouts and friends and family. It was a great day."

Senior defensive tackle Brent Urban did not take part in the workouts, because he is still recovering from a foot injury he suffered during the 2013 season. The 'Hoos that did participate, though, felt like it was a hectic and successful day.

"Things go fast and you're kind of, you do it and you're like, 'shoot if I could do that again, who knows?'" said offensive lineman Luke Bowanko. "We tried to have as much fun with it as we could, and it helps having guys like Mo, Brent, Jake, and Tim, guys that are kind of hang-easy, loose guys that can laugh it out a little bit."

"I've been practicing for this for two months," said wide receiver Tim Smith. "I went to Arizona to train. It was just fun out here, you know running around and doing drills with my guys."

Offensive tackle Morgan Moses is expected to be picked the highest out of the crop Cavaliers in May's NFL Draft. Moses tweaked a hamstring during Monday's workout, but scouts had already had a chance to see him when he attended the NFL Combine in February. The Cavalier senior says his schedule has been crazy the last few months, but he's still enjoying the process.

"It's a hectic process, so sometimes I've got to sit myself down and realize the bigger picture," he said Monday. "The bigger picture is a lot of people don't get this opportunity to come out here and run around in front of all 32 teams, and give a shot on their dream."
