May 18, 2012

Virginia batted around in a huge ninth inning Friday to rally for a 10-3 win at Maryland, giving the Cavaliers the series win.

The Wahoos trailed 3-2 in the ninth but tied the game on a Kenny Towns hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded.

They went on to score seven more times in the frame, highlighted by a Chris Taylor grand slam.

Nick Howard fired 5.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen to get the win.

Virginia will go for the series sweep tomorrow at 1 p.m.
