Imovbioh's Big Debut Helps 'Hoos Beat JMU

After spending last season being forced to watch because of an NCAA eligibility issue, Virginia forward Sarah Imovbioh made her presence felt in her college basketball debut on Friday.

The St. Anne's-Belfield alum registered a double-double -- 21 points and 10 rebounds -- to lead the Cavaliers to a 78-57 win over James Madison on Friday. Imovbioh was ineligible last season because of a gap in her high school enrollment while living in Nigeria.

Imovbioh got the start in her college debut because of a stress fracture in the left shin of senior Simone Egwu.

The Cavaliers closed out the first half on an 18-0 run to pull away from the Dukes, who ended Virginia's season in the quarterfinals of last year's Women's NIT.

All-ACC preseason pick Ataira Franklin scored 20 points and added five steals for Virginia, while Kentucky transfer Sarah Beth Barnette had 10 points in her UVa debut.
