Brian O'Connor hopes junior pitcher Branden Kline has turned the corner in his move from the Virginia bullpen to the starting rotation.
Kline, who was the Cavaliers' closer last season, was named ACC Pitcher of the Week on Monday after his two-hit complete game performance against Clemson last Saturday.
"It's been noted that as much as he closed last year, and pitched at the end of the game, sometimes it takes a little while," O'Connor said Monday. "And hopefully what he's shown over the last two weeks against Clemson and against Florida State, hopefully he's settled in a little bit now and he can start to have some more dominating performances."
It was the first complete game of Kline's career, and the first thrown in an ACC game this season.
With the win, Kline improved to 4-2, with a 3.10 ERA in seven games (six starts) this season.
