Morgan Moses Shows Versatility on Offensive Line

March 25, 2012

As spring practice continues for the Virginia football team, there are new faces stepping up on the offensive line. The Cavaliers started the same five guys in every game last season but return just one of those this spring.

Austin Pasztor and Anthony Mihota are among the graduates from the linemen core, while Oday Aboushi and Luke Bowanko are both nursing injuries.

That leaves lone returner Morgan Moses, a rising junior.

Moses played right tackle in 2011 and has shifted to the left side to make up for the team's missing parts. Teammates and coaches say it's his versatility that makes Moses so valuable.

"His first year he played guard; he played some tackle," said quarterback Michael Rocco. "He can play both tackles. He's just a very versatile guy. He's athletic for a big guy. He's just a leader on the offensive line."

Offensive coordinator Bill Lazor says the experience can only make Moses a better player.

"He's putting himself into a position to be a guy that's played multiple positions, which is going to help him later on in his career," said Lazor. "Having played three different positions in college so far, and playing them well, he's got a bright future."
