Jerome "Jappy" Oliver is filling one of the vacancies on the Virginia football coaching staff.
"I want to welcome Jerome “Jappy” Oliver to our staff. He will assume the duties as our defensive line coach. Quality teacher for our team," head coach Mike London announced on Twitter Monday morning.
Oliver brings more than 35 years of college coaching experience to London's staff. Oliver spent the past four seasons as defensive line coach at Buffalo. Prior to that, he spent four seasons as defensive line coach at Notre Dame, where he worked with current UVa defensive coordinator Jon Tenuta.
Oliver replaces Vincent Brown on the UVa coaching staff. Brown left last week to become co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Connecticut.
