Three Virginia baseball players spending their summer in the New England Collegiate Baseball League were in the league's All-Star game Sunday, which saw the East down the West 2-1.
Nathan Kirby, Cameron Tekker and Kenny Towns were all selected to the West roster.
Kirby and Tekker tossed one inning apiece. Kirby came on in the second and gave up two hits with one strikeout. Tekker appeared in the ninth and allowed one hit and struck out one.
Towns was selected to the West team as a substitute but did not appear in the game.
Kirby has appeared in six games for the Keene Swamp Bats. He has a pair of wins to go along with a 2.43 ERA and 45 punchouts in 29.2 innings.
Tekker has appeared in 12 games out of the Saratoga Brigade bullpen. He also has two wins and a 3.06 ERA with 27 strikeouts in 17.2 innings pitched.
Towns is batting 2.50 with the Vermont Mountaineers with a home run and six RBIs in 20 games.
