Virginia track and field senior Lance Roller and former Cavalier Lyndsay Harper competed at the 2012 U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials Friday evening at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
Roller placed 23rd overall and seventh in the first heat of the men’s 800 meters in a time of 1:48.67. The Cortlandt Manor, N.Y., native is a three-time All-American, including a second-team nod during the 2012 outdoor season. Roller was the 800m ACC Champion and a part of the 4x400 relay that also claimed gold.
Harper finished seventh in the second heat of the women’s 800 meters in a time of 2:08.33 (30th overall). The Albuquerque, N.M., native was a two-time All-American for Virginia, including 2011 second-team honors in the women's 800 meters.
