Virginia’s 2013-14 recruiting class has been ranked 14th nationally by Baseball America.
Virginia’s incoming freshman class is comprised of nine student-athletes, including a catcher, two infielders, one outfielder and five pitchers. Three were selected in the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft – infielder Daniel Pinero was a 20th-round selection by the Houston Astros, Connor Jones was a 21st-round pick of the San Diego Padres and Matt Thaiss was a 32nd-round selection for the Boston Red Sox.
The highly-acclaimed class also features Tyler Allen, Alec Bettinger, Adam Bleday, Tony Butler, Ben Carraway and Jack Roberts.
According to the rankings, the UVa recruiting class is the second-best in the ACC, behind the Miami Hurricanes, who are ranked sixth.
