If there's one position the Cavalier football team is confident about this spring, it's running backs. With the return of starting duo Perry Jones and Kevin Parks, the experienced core also includes Clifton Richardson and Khalek Shepherd. The foursome combined for about 2,000 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns last fall.
Now, arguably the deepest position on the roster, head coach Mike London is challenged with making the most of his quadrupled talent.
"It's a good problem to have right now," said London. "For us to try to find ways, creative ways to get them more involved in the game, to get plays designated for them and just utilize the production they can bring us."
It's a big confidence boost knowing I'll have those guys in the backfield," said rising junior quarterback Michael Rocoo. "And they're great receivers out of the backfield too so it gives an extra weapon out of the backfield and adds an extra dimension to the offense."
The Cavaliers will compete in the annual Orange-Blue game on Saturday April 14 at 2 p.m. Gates open at Scott Stadium at noon.
