Mike Scott is a member of the Atlanta Hawks.
The Hawks took the former Virginia power forward with the 43rd overall pick in Round 2 of the NBA Draft on Thursday night. Scott becomes the Cavalier taken in the NBA Draft since Sean Singletary in 2008.
"Proud to be a Hawk... Blessed for this opportunity!!!" Scott tweeted shortly after his selections.
Scott averaged 18.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game as a fifth-year senior this season. His postseason awards included first-team All-ACC honors, and honorable mention All-American recognition by the Associated Press.
Scott leaves Virginia third on the school's all-time rebounding list with 944 in his career. His 1,538 points scored are 16th in school history, and his 34 doubles are second all-time.
Scott was the second player taken by Atlanta on Thursday night. The Hawks selected Vanderbilt shooting guard John Jenkins with pick No. 23 overall in Round 1.
