No. 4 Florida State rallied for a 7-5 win in the eighth inning Monday night to complete the three-game sweep over Virginia (11-8-1, 2-4 ACC).
Virginia was led offensively by Reed Gragnani who tied a career high with four hits. Mitchell Shifflett added a pair of hits.
UVa reliever Kyle Crockett (0-2) took the loss Monday after the sophomore allowed a pair of runs in 1.1 innings. Starter Whit Mayberry pitched 3.1 innings, allowing three earned runs, four hits and two walks while striking out three.
UVa trailed by one entering the third inning when they batted around and scored four times to take a 5-2 lead. Florida State plated one run in the fourth before a series of two hits, two walks and three runs completed the comeback in the eighth inning.
The Cavaliers return home Wednesday to host VMI at 5 p.m.
