Tuesday's home game against George Washington is the latest weather-related casualty of the first month of the Virginia baseball season.
The steady snow that has fallen on Charlottesville on Monday has forced UVa -- who remained ranked No. 1 in the latest Baseball America national poll this week -- to postpone Tuesday's game until next month. The game is now scheduled for 5 p.m. on April 2 at Davenport Field.
It's the third game on the Cavaliers' 10-game homestand that's been rescheduled because of winter weather. UVa's home opener against William and Mary two weeks ago was initially pushed back a day, then moved to Williamsburg because of snow. Cold temperatures forced last Friday's game against Monmouth to get bumped to Sunday.
The Cavaliers' homestand is scheduled to wrap up on Wednesday afternoon against Old Dominion, before UVa heads to Duke to open ACC play with a three-game series set to begin on Friday.
