The Notre Dame football program is a traditional powerhouse and has re-emerged in the past year under Brian Kelly.
Doug Randolph took notice and Wednesday the Woodberry Forest U.S. All-America Linebacker signed to play for the Fighting Irish.
"Oh man I don't know where to start," Randolph said on why he chose the Irish."The football facilities, the football history, culture, and then the academic side, the number one business school and the culture there and society. Everything seems really tight knit."
Randolph had originally committed to Stanford but flipped to Notre Dame last fall.
"It's been pretty crazy. Committed to Stanford, took a couple visits and then made the late decision (to attend Notre Dame)," Randolph explained.
His senior season with the Tigers was delayed due to a broken bone in his foot, but Randolph came back and is now ready to play for the Irish.
"This is everything I've been working for the last couple years and it's all come together and really hit home when I signed my name on that paper."
