While Virginia men's basketball head coach Tony Bennett has not yet signed a contract extension following one of the most successful seasons in program history, his assistants have signed new deals.
Associate head coach Ritchie McKay, and assistant coaches Jason Williford and Ron Sanchez have all signed new contracts, which were obtained by the Newsplex on Tuesday through a Freedom of Information Act request.
McKay's contract runs through 2019 and carries an annual base salary of $179,800, along with supplemental compensation of $155,000 and an annual car allowance of $9,000.
Williford and Sanchez both signed new 4-year contracts that run through 2018 and include an annual base salary of $225,000.
All three contracts include bonuses based on UVa's performance in the NCAA Tournament. The terms include a one-month's salary bonus for the round of 68, a 1.5-month's salary bonus for the Sweet 16, two-month's salary for the Final Four, and three-month's salary for an NCAA Title.
In the 2013-2014 season, UVa won its first outright ACC regular season title since 1981 and its first conference tournament title since 1976. The Cavaliers earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1995 before falling to Michigan State.
