Senior Elly Buckley and junior Jenny Johnstone were named to the preseason All-ACC Field Hockey team, the conference announced Thursday.

Buckley, a three-time All-American, was among the nation’s leaders in scoring last season, ending the year ranked 23rd with 0.77 goals per game and 23rd in points per game (1.86).

Johnstone, who earned All-ACC honors last season, led the conference for most of the 2012 season in save percentage, ending the year with a .720 efficiency.

The ACC also announced the 2013 preseason poll with the Cavaliers predicted to finish sixth. Last season, Virginia compiled a 16-6 record, finishing second in the ACC with a 4-1 mark, advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.
