The Virginia baseball team fell to No. 6 Florida State, 12-3, Saturday night in Tallahassee.
Jared King got the Wahoos started in the first with a two-run single that scored Stephen Bruno and Mike Papi to put the Cavs up 2-0.
Cavalier starting pitcher Scott Silverstein got in trouble in the second but got out of a bases-loaded jam with a big strikeout to end the inning.
Chris Taylor then singled in Nate Irving for the Wahoos' third run but the Seminoles tied the game at three soon after and took the lead for good on a John Nogowski two-run base hit.
The two teams will meet again Sunday at 2 p.m.
