The Virginia women's basketball team cruised past Clemson Sunday afternoon for a 68-36 victory at John Paul Jones Arena. The Cavaliers evened their ACC record at 6-6 with four games to play in the regular season.

Senior forward Chelsea Shine led the team with 20 points and six rebounds. Defensively, the team amassed 26 steals, tying a school record set earning this season vs. Wagner. Every player tallied at least one steal and UVa scored 32 points off turnovers. Ariana Moorer had six of those steals and added 13 points in the win.

UVa opened the game on a 7-0 run, later extending their lead to 17 points at the 10:54 mark in the first half. Virginia led 37-17 at halftime and got 17 points from their bench.

The Cavaliers wore all pink Sunday to support the nationwide Play 4Kay initiative, aimed at raising breast cancer awareness. The event was named in honor of former NC State head coach Kay Yow. Play 4Kay was formerly known as the WBCA ‘Pink Zone.'

Virginia hosts Maryland Thursday night at 7 p.m. The Cavaliers fell 68-61 in their first meeting with the Terrapins on January 16 in College Park.
