After an unforgettable win Thursday over No.3 Duke, the UVa men's basketball team turned in a forgettable performance down the stretch in a 53-52 loss at Boston College on Sunday.
Senior point guard Jontel Evans hopes to forget the final minutes of the game and not dwell on the mistakes that were made. With Virginia trailing by 1 and less than 10 seconds to play, Evans brought the ball the length of the court before stepping out of bounds on the baseline, turning the ball over with .04 seconds left.
"As I was about to pass it, I had seen that Lonnie Jackson was covering him and I had nowhere to go but out of bounds," says Evans.
"It was just a boneheaded play on my part. You can't dwell on things because when you dwell on things, bad things just repeat itself. We have a big game Thursday against Florida State. You know, the Boston College game is over with, our focus is on Florida State."
