UVa's Madison to be Inducted into Hall of Fame

Virginia field hockey head coach Michele Madison has been selected to the NFHCA Hall of Fame for the Class of 2013.

Madison led the Cavaliers to six NCAA Tournament berths and two national semifinals in seven seasons as the head coach. In 2006, she was named the National Coach of the Year by womensfieldhockey.com.

During the 2012 season, Madison passed the 300-win mark for her career and the 100-win mark for her time at UVa. She currently ranks ninth among active coaches in career wins.

Madison has been the head coach at Virginia, Michigan State and Temple, leading all three programs to NCAA Tournament appearances. She is the only head coach who has taken three Division-I programs to the Tournament.

The NFHCA will be welcoming the Class of 2013 into the NFHCA Hall of Fame during the 2013 NFHCA Annual Convention, held Nov. 20-22 in Virginia Beach, Va.
