Virginia Tops Davidson With Balanced Attack

Mike Tobey led the way with 18 points while Malcolm Brogdon added a career high 17 points, as the UVa basketball team beat Davidson 70-57 on Saturday in Charlotte.

Joe Harris finished with just one point in 30 minutes of play, but the 25th-ranked 'Hoos didn't need a big day from their senior leader, with four other players finishing in double figures. Justin Anderson had 12 points and eight rebounds and Akil Mitchell added 11 points and nine rebounds for the Cavaliers.

London Perrantes made his first collegiate start and had five points, five assists and no turnovers. The 'Hoos outscored the Wildcats 36-8 in the paint on the afternoon, and also had a 31-3 advantage in points off the bench. Virginia has now won seven straight matchups with Davidson.

With the win, UVa improves to 2-1 while Davidson falls to 0-3 on the season. The Cavaliers return home Tuesday Nov. 19 to host Navy at 7 p.m.
