With the season opener against BYU now less than two weeks away, the Virginia football team has lost a potential contributor in the defensive backfield.
Coach Mike London announced during a Monday teleconference that redshirt freshman Wil Wahee will miss the upcoming season because of a torn ACL. Wahee had been practicing with the second team defense and competing for the fourth cornerback spot this summer.
The top three cornerback spots appear set for the Cavaliers, with juniors Tra' Nicholson and and Drequan Hoskey, and sophomore Maurice Canady. Other players competing for time at that spot include redshirt freshmen C.J. Moore and Divante Walker, and true freshmen Tim Harris and Kirk Garner.
