The Virginia baseball team will have to wait an extra day for its shot at an 8-0 start.
The team announced Monday that its home game against George Washington, originally scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, had been pushed back to 3 p.m. Wednesday. Tuesday's weather forecast includes the threat of rain throughout central Virginia.
The Cavaliers are coming off last weekend's three-game sweep of Toledo. Virginia was won its first seven games this season, the program's best start since opening the 2009 season with 19 straight wins.
