The Virginia women's lacrosse team wraps up their ACC regular season schedule on Saturday when they travel to rival Virginia Tech (7-5, 0-3 ACC). The Cavaliers are 9-4 overall and an even 2-2 in conference action. With a victory in Blacksburg, they can wrap up third place in the ACC.
"They're fiesty and aggressive," said UVa head coach Julie Myers. "They're young and talented and they're gonna come hungry. They're pretty desperate for an ACC win and we're pretty desperate to close out the season with three ACC wins so we need to make sure we take care of business and prepare pretty well for Virginia Tech."
UVa matched their win total from 2011 with a victory Monday night over Harvard at Klockner Stadium. Senior Josie Owen leads the team in goals (28) and assists (29) and is three goals away from reaching 100 for her career.
Virginia is ranked No. 7 in the IWLCA coaches poll and No. 9 in the deBeer media poll. They are 17-0 all-time against Virginia Tech. Face off is set for 1 p.m. Saturday.
