Michelle anchors the CBS19 News at 5, 6, & 11 p.m. Monday - Friday
Michelle Rupp is thrilled to call Charlottesville home! She joined the Newsplex in November, 2011 as main anchor.
Michelle has spent the last 13 years in television, most recently in Little Rock, Arkansas. While in Arkansas, Michelle was an award-winning reporter for KATV. While there, Michelle shared her personal story on heart disease. As a heart disease survivor, Michelle is involved with the American Heart Association, including annual fundraisers the Festival of Wine and Heart Ball.
Michelle is most known for marathon running and cannot wait to explore the roads and trails of Charlottesville. She has completed over a dozen marathons nationwide, including the Chicago Marathon, Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco and the Walt Disney World Race and Goofy Half Challenge.
While in Little Rock, Michelle was very active in her community, sitting on various Boards and serving different organizations. She is a former Board of Director for the Mid-America Chapter for the National Academy of Television, Arts, and Sciences (EMMY), and a one-star judge and emcee in the Miss Arkansas pageant system.
Michelle holds a B.S. degree in Meteorology from Mississippi State University and a B.A. in Communications from the University of Central Arkansas. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys working out at the gym, reading and traveling.
