Colleen joined the Newsplex in February 2013, first as a reporter/producer and then as a full-time reporter the following September.
Colleen hails from Long Island, New York where she has been a life-long fan of the perennially losing Mets.
She graduated cum laude in May 2012 with a BS in Theatre from Boston College, where she had roles in plays from Shakespeare to experimental productions. During her junior year she spent a semester in Parma, Italy where she learned Italian cooking, traveled to more than a dozen countries, and managed to fit in classes too. She reported for Boston College Eagles Marketing, conducting post-game highlight reports for the Boston College Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, and the Men's Ice Hockey Team.
After graduation, she worked at WPIX in New York City as a production assistant, writing for the web and field producing, covering breaking news ranging from the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, to five-alarm fires, to snow storms, to the near-riot caused by Justin Bieber’s promotional appearance at a department store.
While not working, Colleen loves to travel, cook, and explore Charlottesville including the hiking trails, wineries, and the historical sites.
