Tyler produces the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts on CBS19
Tyler joined the Newsplex in June 2014 as a Producer. He currently works as the evening producer for the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. shows Monday to Friday.
Tyler comes to Charlottesville from a CBS affiliate in Bridgeport, W. Va., where he served as a Weekend Reporter for over a year. He was born and raised in the Mountain State, so getting the opportunity to report on hard-hitting stories in the state Tyler loves calling home was a great opportunity. An eye-opening story for Tyler was covering of the water crisis in January 2014, where more than 300,000 people in West Virginia were unable to use water in any way, shape, or form, for more than a week.
Tyler graduated from West Virginia University (Let's Go, Mountaineers!), where he studied Television Journalism, and Spanish. During the Spring of 2013, Tyler served as the breaking news reporter for WVU News, a weekly newscast produced by journalism students.
Since Tyler is a big news junkie, you can usually find him watching the news outside of work, 24/7, but he also enjoys hiking, biking, swimming, and spending time with his Boxer puppy, Duke!
This life-long Mountaineer is proud to call Central Virginia his new home. If you see him, don't be afraid to say hello, and even drop him a story idea to pass along!
