Dan anchors the CBS19 News at 6 p.m. & 11 p.m. and the WAHU FOX27 News at 10 p.m. Monday - Friday

Dan Schutte has lived in Central Virginia since the summer of 2006. He is involved in numerous activities throughout the community. He graduated Leadership Charlottesville in 2012. Dan is an avid water skier, has run 13 marathons, and has even been talked into several local triathlons. He's also involved in several different local events, such as the MS Bike Tour and sits on the regional board of the American Cancer Society.

In his off time, he can usually be found on some of the area's lakes, or hiking through the mountains of Nelson County. He is also an avid reader.

Dan comes to the area from Northern Minnesota, where he was an anchor for WDIO-TV in Duluth, Minn. Prior to that, he was a reporter and anchor in Eureka, Calif. During his career, he has covered several national stories and won awards for his work.

Dan is originally from the Minneapolis area. He graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. with a degree in broadcast journalism. He was also a member of the Division I wrestling team there. If you see him out and about, which you probably will, make sure you say hello.
