Beth Duffy joined the CBS19 team as a co-anchor for the weekday’s noon, 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. newscasts. Beth brings more than 10 years of local journalism experience with her to the Gray Communications network.

Her Beth on the Bright Side segments air Mondays on 19 News Nightcast.

After graduating from Virginia Tech with a degree in Communications Studies, Beth held a reporting job at a station in Fredericksburg, Va., where she shot, wrote and edited daily stories for the evening newscast. Later, she expanded her broadcasting career as the morning anchor, producer and reporter at KTVO in Kirksville, Mo.

In addition to reporting on Charlottesville news, Beth has written feature stories for the Virginia Sports Radio Network. Her inside look at UVa. athletes is reported during the pre-game Cavalier Football Radio Shows with Voice of the Cavaliers, Mac McDonald. Mixing her love of sports with her broadcasting skills, Beth also acts as a roving reporter for the University of Virginia's flagship TV station at Scott Stadium and the John Paul Jones Arena. This position enables her to interact in a unique way with Cavalier fans and the Charlottesville community. Beth equally enjoys her work in support of various community fundraising events throughout the year.

Beth enjoys calling Charlottesville home with her husband, Scott. When not at work, Beth enjoys traveling, dining out, exercising and watching sporting events.
