Damon joined the Newsplex as sports director in July 2011.
He can be seen anchoring the station's sports reports throughout the week. He's also the host of Friday Night Endzone during high school football season, as well as the stations' special coverage of UVa athletics, such as Countdown to Kickoff and Cavalier Pregame Live.
Before arriving in Charlottesville, Damon worked at WHSV in Harrisonburg, including spending the past three-and-a-half years as sports director. He was on the sideline at Virginia Tech the afternoon JMU upset the Hokies; traveled to several NCAA Tournament appearances with the JMU women's basketball and baseball teams; and followed a number of local high school teams on their way to state titles.
Damon has communications degrees from Susquehanna University and Syracuse University. A native of Frackville, Pa., he's a lifelong Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and Penn State football fan. He lives just outside Charlottesville with his dog, a miniature schnauzer puppy named Penny.
