Suzanne joined the Newsplex in January 2012 as a weekend meteorologist/reporter. She was raised in The Sandhills of North Carolina and followed in her dad's footsteps to become alumni of the NC State Wolfpack. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in meteorology in December 2011.
Suzanne interned with the WRAL weather team starting in the summer of 2011 through her last semester of college. She was also involved with UNC's student produced news show "Carolina Week". Other experiences include an internship with WFMY during the summer of 2010.
Suzanne enjoys the combination of the science and the involvement with the community broadcast meteorology offers. Her most memorable weather events are Hurricane Fran in 1996 and the 2000 snow storm where her hometown received close to 20 inches of snow.
Suzanne enjoys all types of dance, cooking, crafts and baking. She is a certified cycling instructor and licensed Zumba teacher and enjoys working out. She is excited to get to know the community and culture Charlottesville and surrounding cities have to offer!
