Women of Ireland
John Paul Jones Arena
Charlottesville, VA - For the first time, a stage show brings together all the most adorned elements associated with Irish & Celtic music, song and dance in one brand new super stage spectacle at John Paul Jones Arena on March 15, 2014 as part of the 2013-2014 Brown Mercedes Benz Broadway in Charlottesville series. Tickets go on sale November 18 at 10 am, and are available by calling 1-888-JPJ-TIXS, logging on to www.ticketmaster.com, or by stopping at the John Paul Jones Arena box office. Ticket prices range from $41 to $52.
‘Women of Ireland’ features an all-female lineup of Irish step dancers comprising three long-term dancers from ‘Riverdance,’ the lead dancer with Michael Flatley’s ‘Lord of the Dance’ and a number of other tantalizing female dancers who excel in other dance disciplines.
The show also features a very special guest male dancer, the 4-time world champion and former lead dancer with Riverdance – Anthony Fallon.
Three supremely talented sisters from Co Kerry (Ireland) are responsible for providing enchanting vocal performances as part of the stage show. The stunning siblings are best known for their close celestial harmonies which are as much a consequence of their personal relationship as it is of their vocal prowess.
The outstanding dance and vocal content of the show is augmented supremely by the vast talent of the instrumentalists within the production. Led by a fervent fiddler from Northern Ireland the instrumental players have the ability to bring people to their feet without the need for reinforcement from dancers or vocalists and indeed the instrumental ensemble pieces provide many singular show stopping moments within the show.
