Man’s Best Friend, Cat or Dog?
Warm Springs Gallery 105 Third St NE, Charlottesville
Join us at the Warm Springs Gallery in downtown Charlottesville for a pet themed art show to benefit the animals at the SPCA. The show will run from June through July and 20% of all sales will go to help the animals at the SPCA.
The opening reception will be held on Friday, June 6th from 6 to 8PM.
“Man’s Best Friend, Cat or Dog?” features an array of humorous and endearing interpretations of these beloved animals. Examples range from breed-specific works, such as Canadian artist, Paul Boddum’s modern dog portraits to Andy Bality’s paintings of dogs and cats with their human companions. Other pieces include Mary Engel’s ceramic and found-object sculptures, mixed media assemblages by Dolan Geiman, and Jim Kransberger’s amusing ceramic sculpture. Other participating artists include Melanie Eberhardt, Andy Farkas and Neal Iwan.
Children up to age 12 are invited to participate in the Pet Portrait Contest. Entries are due by July 1st.
