Announce the recipient of the $2,000 scholarship (provided by the Virginia National Bank-Orange, VA) awarded to a MCHS senior that wrote the winning essay regarding the topic- "What role did Madison County Play in the Civil War?"

Living History Camp of 7th VA Co. "A" Confederate Infantry

Pallas Athena Ladies Aid Society, Women of American Civil War, and various other groups represented along with several Re-Enactors portraying both Confederate and Union Army Officers

Many Civil War era demonstrations to include-quilting, weaving, butter making, soap making, blacksmith, wood shingle production, basket weaving, Civil War relics, etc...etc...

Cavalry and Artillery demonstrations from the 7th, 10th, and 12th Virginia Cavalry-
Cavalry Camp opens for visitors at 9:00am at Camp Crockett (Hoover Ridge Park)
Cavalry demonstrations of formations, drills, and skirmishes at 10:30am and 1:30pm

All events, at both locations, are free and open to the public----events subject to change--please, no pets
