19th Annual Spirit Walk
Date(s): 10/18/2013, 10/19/2013
Join the Albemarle Charlottesville Historical Society for its biggest fundraiser of the year: The 19th Annual Spirit Walk! This year, new “spirits” will join familiar faces from the past, and visitors to this ghostly tour will learn more about some of the famous—and infamous—residents who once lived in Charlottesville. Tours depart every 15 minutes, and the Walk lasts approximately one hour.
Maplewood Cemetery Tours will be held on Friday, October 18th from 6:00-9:00 pm and on Sunday, October 20th from 5:30-7:30 pm. Meet at Maplewood Cemetery at the Maple Street entrance.
During Sunday's Maplewood Cemetery Tour, visitors will have a chance to mingle with the “spirits” and enjoy a pizza picnic together at the old jail after the Tour. Perfect for kids and pizza lovers alike! Receive a Domino’s large cheese or pepperoni pizza with each $12 advance donation, available online. All pizzas must be preordered, so reserve yours today! Beverages will be available for purchase on site.
Court Square Tours will be held on Saturday, October 19th from 6:00-9:00 pm. Visitors will have an opportunity to explore the old county jail at the conclusion of their tours. Court Square Tours will meet at the corner of Sixth Street NE & Jefferson Street (near the Court House).
Cost: $12 for adults, $8 for children 10 and under. Purchase tickets online at www.albemarlehistory.org or by phone (434) 296-1492. Large groups are encouraged to make reservations by phone. Box office hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Ticket sales start September 9th.
