Eﬀective Nonproﬁt Board Service
Join our 80+ Academy graduates dedicated to strengthening our
community via eﬀective board service. Get the knowledge, skills, and tools you
need to support and impact nonproﬁt organizations in our community - and at
the same time, support your own professional development and career path.
Nonproﬁts, in addition to providing a safety net for ourselves and our neighbors,
provide the quality of life "tapestry" for our community from the arts and culture,
to health, literacy, youth programs, wellness and beyond.
The Academy is a six session (2 full days and 4 evening workshops) custom-
developed curriculum consisting of interactive classes, readings, experiential
learning, and network building. Curriculum topics include:
• Strategy and Evaluation
• Board Fiscal Responsibility
• Board Recruitment and Retention
• Board and Resource Development
The Board Development Academy is the region’s only professional development
program for nonproﬁt board members.
