Virginia’s Civil War 150 HistoryMobile

Date(s): 3/1/2014

10am-4pm

Rio Hill Shopping Center/1980 Rio Hill Center Charlottesville, VA 22901
This event is presented as part of the 150th commemoration of the Skirmish at Rio Hill, Albemarle County’s only Civil War conflict between Union and Confederate forces. Organized by the Charlottesville Albemarle Civil War Sesquicentennial Committee, this event also include a living history encampment, guest speakers, displays and the unveiling of a new exhibit on the Skirmish.

The HistoryMobile uses immersive spaces and interactive exhibits to draw together stories of the Civil War and emancipation from the viewpoints of those who experienced it across Virginia—young and old, enslaved and free, soldier and civilian.
