Three Notch’d Road presents "Capriccio! Instrumental Gems from 17th-Century Italy"
First United Methodist Church, Charlottesville
Three Notch’d Road: The Charlottesville Baroque Ensemble presents Capriccio! Instrumental Gems from 17th-Century Italy on Friday, March 28 at 7:30pm at Trinity Episcopal Church in Staunton, Virginia and Saturday, March 29 at 7:30pm at First United Methodist Church in Charlottesville, Virginia. Tickets are available at the door and are $15 for adults and free for students. For more information, visit our website at www.tnrbaroque.org, call (703) 587-0483, or email email@example.com.
Ticket-holders are encouraged to join violinist and TNR co-artistic director David McCormick at 6:30pm each evening for a free pre-concert lecture that will provide insight into this rarely performed repertoire. The instrumental music of 17th-century Italy is harmonically adventurous, capricious, and at times almost improvisatory. McCormick will introduce concert-goers to composers such as Giovanni Antonio Pandolfi, a mysterious character who dedicated a sonata to a singer he later murdered!
