Artists create art in 60 minutes that will be auctioned at live auction. demonstration artists will participate in their studios plying their craft where silent auction pieces are available to bid on. there will be entertainment by The Braeded Chord, Prince Michel wines and a tantalizing hors d'ouevres buffet. African American Teaching Fellows 3rd Bienniak Silent Art Auction

Paintings, sculpture, ceramics, and photographs by local and other artists; opening bids at a variety of price levels. Music by the Piedmont Chamber Players, plus refreshments. Valuable autographed book of photographs by William Albert Allard, Five Decades: A Retrospective, will be raffled off. Tickets: $30 single, $55 couple, $15 raffle, available at the door.

The AATF mission is to recruit, support, develop, and retain qualified African American teachers to serve in local schools, a goal strongly supported by both local school divisions.

Silent auction and fundraising event to benefit the Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary

Please join us for a fun and exciting evening filled with amazing art, food, drink and music to benefit the Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary’s expansion to Miller School

Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary will hold Wild About Art! on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Cityspace, on the downtown mall, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Proceeds will be used to match a $50,000 challenge grant awarded by Perry Foundation in support of the organization’s efforts to expand to a new location at Miller School.

Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary rescues, rehabilitates and releases orphaned or injured wild animals in Central Virginia. Serving over 500 animals every year, Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary works to educate the public about the habitat needs of local wildlife. A move to Miller School grounds will result in increased opportunities for community education and engagement of the public, in addition to more space for wild animals in need of care.

Wild About Art! celebrates art with animal and habitat subjects, as interpreted by the artist. Participating artists include Cynthia Burke, Nick Nichols, Isabelle Abbott, David Breeden, Maggie Owen, Dean Dass, Megan Marlatt, Murray Whitehill, Akemi Ohira, Jessie Cole, Jack Wilson, Lara Gastinger, Jan Crowther, Patty Wallens, Kaki Dimock, Theresa White, Blaise Gaston, Deborah Pompano, Diane Goodbar, Richard Bednar, Christine Rich, Janice Arone, Mackie Kudravetz, and many others. This group of artists represents an eclectic body of work including photography, pottery, watercolor, works on paper, acrylic, pen & ink, and oil.

Lovely and yummy treats will be provided, including beer, wine and sparkling soda. Music, too!
Cost is $10 at the door.
